Jute Yoga Mat

I’m really happy with this mat. It’s a lot thicker & sturdier feeling than expected. The texture is interesting— I like it & do not find it scratchy. Shipping was fast, too!

This review is mainly to reflect my disappointment in how this "eco-friendly" product was packaged. For anyone who truly cares about being eco-friendly - which is the only reason I purchased this mat instead of some other Gaiam option I could have just picked up at my local Target - it came with a huge PLASTIC label wrapped around it. If you're making an eco-friendly product, use eco-friendly packaging! I am floored by whomever thought this packaging aligned with their product strategy here.

I have practiced on this mat every day for about two weeks now and I am very pleased. The thickness is comfortable but not so squishy that it affects my balance. I use a towel over it because I sweat a lot, and the texture of the mat causes a slight velcro affect to my towel, keeping it in place when there is wind on my back porch where I practice. It's great.

I needed a mat so I could continue practicing at home while my local studio is closed. The quality on this one is great and the texture definitely helps prevent slipping. It sheds a little and I’ve found it a tiny bit itchy against my bare skin. Overall very happy and anticipate it lasting for a long time.
