    Wellness & Yoga Podcasts

Radio may be dying but podcasts are alive and kicking. There’s been a renaissance of sorts in the podcast-sphere, especially since the pandemic, and those of us who love to listen to eye-opening, fun and interesting conversations are loving it. Head to your favorite streaming platform and check out these podcasts.

Eight Yoga & Wellness Podcasts to Inspire

    1) Yogaland Podcast

Hosted by Andrea Ferreti, former executive editor of Yoga Journal, and frequented by Jason Crandell, this podcast is my absolute favorite. The episodes called “Yoga Teacher Companion” feature lessons aimed at deepening the knowledge of new and experienced teachers. The rest of the episodes discuss yoga myths, ways to incorporate yoga’s teachings into your everyday life, and even controversial topics like money and business, cultural appropriation, body image, the superficial side of yoga, relationships and more.

    2) Guys Talking Yoga

While modern yoga classes are packed with women, men have begun exploring the benefits of this practice. However, there are many out there who are still hesitant to give it a try. This podcast is for them. Host Derek Vanderwarker shares the life-changing experience of beginning a yoga practice and holds conversations with men who have found balance, health and meaning in yoga.

    3) Yoga to Cope

Yoga to Cope is a non-profit organization striving to have open conversation surrounding mental health while providing free, yoga-related tools, meditations and breathwork techniques to cope with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression and life’s ups and downs.

    4) Unity in Yoga

Are you interested in conversations around inclusive, accessible and multicultural yoga topics? Hosted by Maya Breuer, Yoga Alliance’s VP of Cross-Cultural Advancement, Unity in Yoga is the podcast that redefines the idea of a “right” yoga practice.

    5) Practice You

Veteran yoga teacher Elena Brower hosts this podcast which features interviews and conversations with wellness personalities, writers, yoga teachers and activists. It’s one of the most insightful podcasts I’ve listened to because the episodes approach wellness and modern-day society with depth and openness. I love that I always walk away with new ideas and tips on how to live a richer life.

    6) 21 Days of Abundance

Deepak Chopra created a 21-episode podcast to jumpstart a journey of daily mindfulness. It’s a meditation challenge that focuses on attracting and living with abundance.

    7) Yoga Meets Movement Science

As a yoga teacher-in-training, I think this podcast is a minefield of knowledge. My YTT focuses on the connection between movement, anatomy and asanas – and this podcast feels like a continuation of that. Yoga teacher Jenni Rawlings and exercise science professor Travis Pollen discuss and challenge many myths around movement, yoga as exercise and anatomy.

    8) Mayim Bialik's Breakdown

While this podcast is not specifically about yoga, it does touch on many topics related to wellbeing, mental health, self-regulation and East-meets-West-medicine. Hosted by Mayim Bialik, actress and neuroscientist, this podcast breaks down complex mental health concepts into accessible and fun episodes that will change how you approach your overall health.
